Master’s degree thesis

The Master’s degree thesis consists of an original experimental and/or modeling research work generally undertaken by the student in one of the research laboratories of professors affiliated with or related to the Study Programme in Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology. There is the possibility to undertake your own thesis path abroad or in a company, subject to agreement with a professor within the Study Programme.

Master’s degree thesis offers

A list of possible Master’s thesis projects in Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology is available on the BeeP channel of the Study Programme. Furthermore, each year the Study Programme Board organize a day (usually between October and November) in which these thesis projects are presented.

The Master’s degree graduation exam

The Master’s degree graduation exam consists of the presentation and discussion of the work done independently by the student during the thesis activity. The final exam offers the student a further opportunity to deepen and verify the ability to analyze, process and communicate the work done. It encompasses a discussion of the results obtained during the thesis activity (which need to be original) in front of a graduation commission. This activity has to be coordinated by an internal supervisor, who must be a professor of the University, preferably involved directly in teaching activities within the Master’s degree Study Programme in Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology.

Information related to general rules, regulations, exam calendar, enrollment and thesis delivery are available on the dedicated page of the University website and on the website of the School of Industrial and Information Engineering.
